We’re transmission replacement and maintenance experts. If your transmission does need to be replaced, and you are anywhere in the Loveland area, give us a call. But, wouldn’t you really prefer not to have to replace your transmission? Keep an eye on these things to catch any problems before it is too late.
Can’t get it into gear
If you are struggling to get your car out of park in the morning, you’ve got a transmission problem. Get it looked at before it gets worse.
What’s that smell?
If you smell burning and it isn’t coming from oil or brakes, your transmission might be running way too hot. This is a pretty dire sign. Even if your transmission has an oil cooler, you’re not out of the woods. You can still be running hot.
Knock, knock, ping
Hearing those noises while you are sitting at a stop sign? You guessed it, that’s the transmission. It could be something that can be easily fixed, but don’t wait to find out. Those noises could also be due to pending mechanical failure or work bearings and gear teeth.
Drip, drip, drip
Finding drops of transmission fluid on the garage floor? Check your fluid levels and stop by to see us. You may have a slow leak that we can address before any damage is done. Don’t wait for the drops to become pools. It’ll probably be too late by that point, and you’ll be looking at rebuilding your transmission instead of replacing it.
Check engine light
People always say, I didn’t think it was a big deal. I thought the oil light would come on if it was serious. If your check engine light comes on, please, just get it checked. Why take chances with your transmission? Trust us, it’s not worth it.
Humming and whining
Hearing something that sounds like buzzing or humming, or even a high-pitched whine? Those sounds can be a lot of things. But, if you’ve got an automatic transmission, that’s likely where the problem lies.
If you are concerned about your transmission, need new tires, or just want someone to take a look to make sure everything is okay with your car, stop by and see us at Loveland Tire and Service. We look forward to being of service.
